It's just clay so touching rubber and plastic does nothing. rubbing it on textured plastic vigorously may leave a residue but your not going to do that. It's for your paint. And the spray is usually a detail spray which is ok for plastic and such a lot of people use turtle wax ice detail spray on the plastic.
